UPDATE:

I am happy to announce that sweet angel winged face Evie the kitten was adopted by an English school teacher and her family on Saturday, Feb 4th, 2012. The next chapter in her life journey continues with them! Best wishes sweet baby cat! You are one of the lucky ones!

Here is her story of how she entered my life before that date.

This little two pound fluffy creature captured in this iphone camera pic is our rescue foster kitten... this tiny being was rescued/adopted from the local animal shelter where my daughter and I both volunteer in the rural south where we also happened to be stationed right now. Sadly, the truth is that time is very limited for animals in shelters with the majority of them not getting adopted...so by saving one we made room for another. She struck us as special as we observed her along with other kittens. She wanted to play nice, the others would hiss at her and swat at her, she was not timid but yet seemed to have a higher intelligence or perhaps maturity level of the others ...she would not fight back...she was so gentle and quiet in her demeanor even though she was slightly bigger then the other of her two cellmates! She seemed to possess a genuine sweet personality that showed through. Something angelic about her stood out from the others. She also had a lovely fluffy black and white tuxedo coat of fur and I could not quite figure it out but something about her little white face markings around her mouth intrigued me....

It wasn't until the 5th night she was living in taking over our home that I was trying to regain my sanity lying in bed for the evening showing my husband this first instagram photo I took of her to share on Twitter (see above photo click on it to see it bigger) that I mentioned to him there was something special about her white mouth area but could not put my finger on it....he said it looked like a butterfly or wings...AHA! It hit me, OMG they are white angel wings! Look at them, do you see the wings too?

We actually got some background history about her as we were filling out the adoption paperwork. Apparently, the man who brought her in happened to be the local police auto mechanic. He had found her under the hood of a police cruiser! She did not belong to the mechanic nor the police officer of the car so she ended up at the pound like all the gazillion other cats and kittens that are unfortunately not spayed/neutered.

UPDATE: on 9/11/11 We have finally named her "Evie"
